Yusuf and Naeem

How we present to Yusuf and Naeem. About 50 minutes, then the accounts team straight after. The words to say are on the 15:00 script page; the accounts session is on Accounts, after.

Goals

  1. A yes or no on the two-week bake sheet trial, and a start date (19 or 20 October).
  2. Their pick for the next phase. No price today.
  3. Anything they don't want covered with the accounts team straight after.

Not raised: the fee. Already agreed; settled informally afterwards.

Setup

  • Boardroom screen on. Client site open on Start (it's behind the password now, so log in first), slides open in a second tab.
  • Agree who drives the laptop. Suggestion: Mo drives, Zubair speaks to anything seen on the floor.
  • Nothing is sent before or after. We show, we don't hand over.

The run

Main findings

  • Damages (slide 6). About ZMW 51,000 a month at selling price, the one loss the books can see, and no cause written against it.
  • Tomorrow's bake (slide 8). Set the same morning; 25 batches planned every day, nobody checks it.
  • Slicing (slide 11). About 15 seconds a loaf on one bay, usually one person. Zubair tells the trolley story: full trolleys wait one to two hours in the cooler, warm bread gets stacked.
  • Flour (slide 13). The recipe needs at least half Royal; the split is written nowhere and people give different versions.

One line each for the rest: slides 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, 12 and 14 (other products).

Decisions

On slide 20.

  • Try the bake sheet? Start 19 or 20 October?
  • Printed and signed, or a WhatsApp message to Abu Bakr and Safi?
  • Who gets the morning report by email?
  • Yusuf's timing Excel: can he send it, even unfinished?

Phase 2

"This week we went deep on Deluxe. Where would you want us to look next?" Then let them choose from the six areas on Next: handover and training, costs and margins by product, monthly page for accounts, same-day figures, weekly damage by cause, production against capacity. Lee Yeast and Kafue Plastics only if they raise it. Write their pick down.

Avoid

  • Reading slides aloud.
  • Naming a person next to a fault.
  • Calling something measured when we were told it.
  • Prices, fees, or "free".
